SpendWise is engineered on an offline-first, local-only architecture. Your financial transactions, account balances, budgets, notes, and contacts never pass through any Taloran server. We do not collect, sell, monetize, or harvest your private financial records.
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile applications SpendWise (Free Edition, package identifier: com.taloran.spendwise) and SpendWise Pro (Supporter Edition, package identifier: com.taloran.spendwise.pro), developed and published by Taloran (“we”, “us”, or “our”), accessible via taloran.tech.
We are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting the confidentiality of your personal and financial information. This document explains what information is accessed, how it is handled, and your rights as a user.
2. Local Financial Data Storage
All financial entries created in SpendWise—including expense records, income entries, categories, payment methods (cash, accounts, cards), budgets, and debtor/creditor balances—are stored exclusively on your device inside an isolated, private SQLite database managed by the app.
Crucial Points on Local Storage:
- Taloran does not operate centralized database servers to aggregate your transactions.
- No financial data is transmitted over the internet to Taloran or any undisclosed third party.
- You retain 100% unencumbered ownership of your financial records.
3. Android Device Permissions & Explicit Purpose
SpendWise requests only the minimum set of permissions necessary to deliver its core bookkeeping features:

Purpose: SpendWise includes a debt and loan manager to help you track money lent to or borrowed from acquaintances. This permission is requested strictly to allow you to select a contact from your device address book so their name can be associated with a debt entry inside your local database.
Privacy Guarantee: Contacts are NEVER harvested, uploaded, synced, or transmitted to any remote servers.
USE_BIOMETRICApp Lock Security
Purpose: Used to offer fingerprint and facial recognition unlocking for user privacy.
Privacy Guarantee: Authentication is handled strictly through the official Android OS BiometricPrompt API. Biometric data is stored in your device’s hardware security enclave (TEE / Keystore) and is mathematically inaccessible to the SpendWise application.
INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATEBanner Advertising & Optional Cloud Sync
Purpose: (1) To serve Google AdMob banner advertisements in the Free edition. (2) To communicate with Google Drive APIs when the user explicitly triggers an encrypted cloud backup or restoration. SpendWise Pro does not load advertisements.
4. Google Drive Cloud Backup Service
SpendWise gives you the optional choice to backup your local database to Google Drive using the Google Drive API (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata).
- Direct Device-to-Google Transmission: Backup data travels directly between your device and Google Drive servers via encrypted HTTPS.
- Restricted AppData Scope: The app only accesses its own dedicated AppData folder and cannot read or alter any other files, photos, or documents in your Google Drive.
- No Developer Access: Taloran does not intercept, store, or have access to your Google credentials or your backup files.
5. Third-Party SDKs and Monetization
Google AdMob (Free Edition Only)
The free tier of SpendWise displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may automatically collect and use device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID), IP addresses, and general network telemetry to deliver and measure ads.

SpendWise Pro (Zero Ads)
SpendWise Pro contains NO advertising SDKs and does NOT display advertisements of any kind.
Google Play In-App Billing
In-app purchases and supporter donations are processed directly by the Google Play Store billing platform. Taloran never handles or stores credit card numbers, billing addresses, or payment instruments.
6. Data Retention and Deletion Rights
Because SpendWise stores your data locally on your device, you have complete control over its retention:
- Instant Local Erasure: You can permanently erase all transactions and settings at any time by going to your Android device settings:
Settings > Apps > SpendWise > Storage > Clear Storage / Clear Data, or by uninstalling the app. - Cloud Backup Deletion: If you created Google Drive backups, you can delete them from within the app’s Settings or via Google Drive on the web (

7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
SpendWise is intended for general audiences and personal financial budgeting. It is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app improvements or regulatory updates. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this page and releasing updated app documentation. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
